Their wedding took place at the Kitalou Gin in Lubbock Texas
The Kitalou Gin in Lubbock, Texas
A Review from Alex, the bride:
A little bit of backstory from the bride:
Luke and I met freshman year in the honors dorm at Texas Tech University. Luke lived right down the hallway from me and I actually had a crush on his roommate-ha! I thought Luke was the funniest guy in our friend group. We started watching movies and playing video games together. He liked me but I had to make the first move
The bride’s favorite moment from her big day: We got married on a Sunday so having time in the morning for a message and prayer was awesome. We had the opportunity to get centered and focus on why we were really there (Jesus) before all the craziness started. Our closest friends and family members prayed over us- it was so intimate and special. We did the rehearsal and the wedding all in one day and that made it easy on everyone.
Q: What was your color scheme?
A: Navy, Gray, Blush, and Cranberry!
Q: What was your dress like?
A: simple, timeless, clean, classic and as white as possible!
The flowers:
Understated, I love carnations (they are cheap and live for a long time) so they were everywhere.
The cake: we couldn’t pick one flavor, so we went with our three favorites: cinnamon, red velvet, and almond
Advice from the bride:
I would encourage others to personalize their days and involve little things throughout the day that are unique or important to you and your significant other. I look back on the day and think about all those little things that were big and important to us and no one else and that made it so special–I walked down the aisle to the soundtrack of the first movie we watched together. Don’t be afraid to break some of the rules and break out of traditions. We did a lot of things that were not traditional, but it made the day more tailored and more us. It’s your wedding so don’t let anyone tell you that you had to do things a certain way.
