Cody and I both attended Colorado School of Mines, where he played baseball and I played soccer. With such a small school, all of the athletes have a good idea of the other athletes so we had a ton of mutual friends. With a small circle of mutual friends regardless, the circle only got smaller with the number of athletes who attended church. Therefore, through mutual friends, Cody and I met at Red Rocks Church in Golden, Colorado. After a couple of months of passing each other on campus, Cody asked me on a date and we went ice skating in the mountains. I knew he was the one after our first date and I remember calling my parents that night and telling them. The next day, my mom told me to start keeping a journal of our story and everything. Cody and I started dating four days after our first date and never looked back. After 2 1/2 years of dating, Cody took me back to the same lake that we went ice skating on and proposed!! All of our family and friends were there to celebrate with us and I was so so surprised!I had no idea it was happening! On our wedding day, I was able to give Cody the journal that I had kept and written in since our first day and it is so sweet to go back and read the raw emotions that I had journaled.
Q: What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?

A: On our wedding day, my absolute favorite memory was the moment the doors to the church opened and I finally got to see Cody. Once I finally got down the aisle to him, I was able to grab his hand and just say “hi”. After all the planning and travel between two states, we hadn’t seen each other that often leading up to our big day. So, the moment I finally got to see him and be with him was so sweet!
