The invitations described by the bride: I designed the invitations myself to include the thistle and anemones to match the wedding florals. The invitations also had beer hops, which Lisa added to the floral arrangements! The beer hops were a huge wedding surprise to Christian since IPA’s are his favorite type of craft beer.

A little bit of backstory from the bride:

Christian and I met while he was in graduate school and I was finishing up my undergrad degree at UNT. We were both at the point in life where we weren’t necessary ready to jump into a relationship, but we started going out country dancing with friends every week and really hit it off, so we decided to give each other a chance. I think the two things that really made us fall in love with each other after months of getting to know each other was first, our love for Jesus, and second, our love for family. Every moment since we fell in love has been an amazing adventure. After 3 years, I love Christian’s unfailing kindness. He has the most gentle and loving soul not only towards me, but everyone one he meets. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for us as husband and wife!

The flowers described by the bride: Gosh, I could talk about the flowers all day. Lisa with Coco Fleur made my floral dreams come true. Again, going with that woodland fairytale theme, I wanted all my flowers to be wild and full of texture. The florals featured blue thistle and anemone mixed with all kinds of lush greenery.

Q: What were the bridesmaids’ dresses like?

A: . The bridesmaids dresses were a mix of different shades of blue. I wanted each dress to be different and not structured

Q: What was your color palette and style vision for your wedding?

A: My inspiration for our wedding was based around Christian’s hometown of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I was really going for a “Woodland Fairytale” kind of vibe. Getting married at The Lodge was the perfect venue for my dream of having a mountain destination wedding, so I tried to base my color palette and style off the venue. I wanted to incorporate different shades of dusty and slate blues along with gold accents and brown rustic wood pieces.

Q:What is your favorite picture and why is it your favorite?

A: This picture of my grandparents is my absolute favorite!  This is special to me because Christian and I got married on the same exact day as my grandparents (11/12). Being able to see their love while watching us during the ceremony is a moment I will forever cherish. There is so much symbolism in this photo that I can’t even put into words. I love it so much!

The bride’s favorite memory from the day:

One month before our wedding, my family lost everything in a house fire, including my wedding dress and three of our beloved pets. After going through such a tragedy, the only thing that mattered on our wedding day was both our families being there to CELEBRATE Christian and I getting married under our Lord and Savior. All the food, décor, and outfits were absolutely amazing, but at the end of the day, Christian and I will never forget the memory of praying, dancing, and celebrating with our closest friends and family. I remember sitting down during dinner thinking, “Wow, how incredibly blessed I am to have people genuinely loving and supporting our marriage by being here.” There were also so many vendors that helped my family and I after the fire, so seeing everything come together to make Christian and my wedding day perfect, is something I will never forget.

Advice from the bride:

Future brides, please do not lose sight of why you are getting married. It’s not about creating a Pinterest worthy wedding, impressing college friends, or having the most epic party. It’s about you and your fiancé becoming one under God, something so sacred and special that is so easily forgotten with the glitz and the glamour of modern weddings. I just advise brides to enjoy every single moment during the journey, because before you know it, the flowers will fade, the food will be forgotten, and the wedding will be over. The only thing you’ll have is your husband by your side for the rest of your life, and you’ll want to remember happy memories, not stressful ones. Focus on what REALLY matters with each step of the wedding planning process and it will completely change your outlook and experience for the best! Oh, and don’t skimp on a good photographer. Good photography is WORTH IT, I promise!
