A little bit of backstory told by the groom:

SWOSU made our love story possible. It brought a California girl and an Oklahoma boy to the same town and allowed us to cross paths. Kourtney was the prettiest thing I had ever seen. She was over a thousand miles from home, by herself, and she was just living life. She is the hardest worker I know, putting herself through nursing school and still making time for me. We were both very independent when we met so we had to work through and figure out a lot early on but I am so glad she stuck with me. Kourtney is the love of my life and it is an honor to be her husband.

Q: What was one of your favorite pictures from your wedding day?

A:I have no idea how to pick an absolute favorite since Emily is truly amazing and what she does! The first one is one of the first pictures Emily took of Chris and I during our First Look. Just looking at this picture makes me cry all over again. I look at this and immediately feel all the emotion and love. Chris looking at me crying and just telling me how he thanks God he was getting to marry ME!

Q: What was your wedding dress like?

A:I tried on so many different styles and this dress was the first dress I tried on at Prescott and new I loved it. I kept trying on more dresses and kept comparing it to this one. I put it back on, facetimed my sister since she couldn’t be there, started crying and that’s when I knew! Ivory Mermaid dress with lace, slim fitting down to the knee. The open back delicate detail was my favorite.

Q: What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?

A: Walking down the isle and seeing my future husband. The man that chose ME of all people to spend his life with. He looked so handsome! I just remember looking at him and smiling the whole ceremony from ear to ear. I don’t even know if I got my words out, I was so excited to be standing with to my future husband.

Q: What were the bridesmaids dresses like?

A:

The Bridesmaid dresses were all from Showmeyourmumu. All of my girls live in different states and it was going to be so hard to get them all in one place to try on dresses. So, with their help we picked out a color and then I let me each decide what style they wanted and would feel comfortable in. Come to find out they all picked the same dress!

Q: What was your color palette\style vision?

A:NEUTRALS! From the beginning we wanted and intimate and romantic feel. I knew I wanted to play off of the lush greenery from the vineyard and decided to go with all white flowers with lots of greenery with gold accents. I had tons of white candles that I feel gave it more of a romantic feel.

The cakes described by the bride:

Simple yet beautiful cakes were from Just Baked Cake Studio in Santa Margarita, California. We had Vanilla, Chocolate and Lemon with buttercream frosting. Uh drooling over here just thinking about them! I wanted to keep them simple and each have a slightly different designed.

The flowers described by the bride:

Gorgeous mixture of white flowers with greenery mixed in. The bouquets had mixtures of white spray roses, ranunculus, peonies and I’m sure more I’m forgetting. The Head tables had luscious green garland that ran down the middle and draped down to the floor.

Advice from Kourtney for future brides:

Just do YOU. Incorporate things that matter to you and your fiancé. Don’t worry about measuring up to the Pinterest wedding. Guest will be looking at you and your husband, not the dinner plate settings or specific style chairs they are sitting in. Yes it makes it look sooooo beautiful, but your guest will remember the time they had celebrating with you and your fiancé and that is what matters. Also, ask for help and learn to delegate! People love helping and are almost just waiting for you to give them a task to help prepare for the big day. And most of all, eat the delicious food you took the time to pick out, smash the cake in each other’s face, dance the night away, and just BE IN THE MOMENT. It’s your day to celebrate the start of forever with the love of your life!
