Review from the sweet bride:

“Emily is such a talented photographer, and in general a wonderful human being! Our wedding guests loved Emily and her assistant Gabby, and numerous people complimented us on having a photographer who fit in with our wedding so seamlessly. Emily and Gabby were so joyful, supportive, organized, and fun!! They communicated with our wedding party and families effectively during formal pictures, making the whole process quick and easy. During the post-ceremony wedding party and bride + groom pictures, they played music, told jokes, and gave good direction to all of us. They were both on the dance floor with us during the reception, showing off their dance skills while taking pictures! Even though we’ve only gotten our sneak peek pictures so far, we have been absolutely thrilled with how they turned out, and can’t wait to see the rest! Highly recommend Emily, she will help make your big day unforgettable!”

Q: Why did you choose your invitations?

A: Invitations we wanted to keep simple, mainly because I’m an earth nerd and hate using paper. They had a garland design to go with the Christmas theme!

A little bit of backstory from the bride:  Alex and I met at Texas A&M Fish Camp (freshman orientation) and were friends at first, but started dating after the second football game of the season. We were both passionate about sports, food, and our faith (not in that order though). We’ve been together for over seven years now- both graduated A&M, I got my Masters at Sam Houston State, and then I moved to Houston for my job and Alex moved in with me two months later. On December 16th, 2017, Alex proposed. I had a hunch it was going to happen, but didn’t know about the engagement party he planned right after with our families and closest friends. It was the second best day, next to the wedding day of course!

The brides description of her dress:

My wedding dress was new, but my veil was my mother’s on her wedding day, and my pearl necklace was from my Mimi (my mom’s mom). I really wanted to incorporate pieces from family members into my look.

Advice for future brides: Focus on what is important to you and your future spouse to celebrate on your wedding day. Don’t feel like you have to have all the bells and whistles, or invite 600 people, or feel pressured by social media or other people into adding things you don’t want on your wedding day. Do what feels right and your wedding day will be the best representation of your relationship, which is what you and your guests will remember the most!

Q: What was your color palette/style vision?

A: It was a play on Christmas colors- we had evergreen and burgundy with gold accents. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year so we wanted to incorporate that spirit into our big day!
Q: What were the bridesmaids dresses like?

A: all of the dresses are from Weddington Way, which is unfortunately now closed. Thankfully all bridesmaids had already ordered and received their dresses before the stores closed! I picked the color, and let them pick their styles. Best for them to feel most comfortable and beautiful!

The bride’s favorite moment from the big day: Alex and I both loved sitting at our sweetheart table at the beginning of the reception and simply watching all of our guests interact. We were extra blessed in that so many of our guests already knew each other, even though they all come from different areas of our lives. Like my parents said in their toast, a large chunk of our wedding guests were people at their wedding over 30 years ago.
The desserts: Cake was DELICIOUS, but we also had pies at the reception because pies are a common holiday dessert and I prefer pie over cake. We had three cake flavors: sweet cream and berries, cinnamon vanilla, and wedding cake. Our pie flavors were apple crumble, pumpkin, and lemon raspberry.
