Q: What were the invitations like?

A: The invitations were one of the most difficult decisions for us, we wanted to make sure the wording honored our parents while still remaining true to who we are. Our Save the Dates were extremely quirky and went well with our personalities but there wasn’t an invitation that matched it perfectly. Finally after searching a long time we found the perfect invitation on Shutterfly!

A little bit of backstory from the bride: Kevin and I met in high school and became best friends during that time but didn’t start dating until my junior year, his sophomore year of college. We fell in love rather quickly because we had a good foundation with our friendship. We enjoyed dating and continuing to get to know each other for 3 years and one month. Then he proposed and we began planning our dream wedding!

The bridesmaids dresses:

Finding dresses for all sizes and shapes was not a difficult task. We let them choose the style that made them feel pretty in our navy and champagne colors.

The bride’s favorite picture from the big day:

The photo of all of our bridal party together is our favorite. It perfectly captures everyone’s unique personalities. We couldn’t have chosen a better group of people to stand beside us!

The bride talking about the cake: We were blown away by the cakes and were able to get a draft of exactly what we wanted with ease. We chose a chocolate cake for the wedding and it was delicious. The coolest part about this bakery is they will make a fresh top tier for your first wedding anniversary so we didn’t need to freeze our top layer. We can’t wait to relive that moment on our first anniversary.

The bride on the flowers: Choosing the flowers was the least stressful detail of the wedding! Our florist was one of my sorority sisters and we’ve known ever since she started her floral business that she was going to be the one we would choose. I remember saying to her, “these are our colors, have fun!” From that she made our wedding flowers perfect.

Q: What was your style vision and color palette?

A: We knew we wanted navy blue and champagne but our venue really drove our style which Pinterest called “industrial chic.” We loved having the exposed ceiling and the brick walls. Somehow it went really well with our dark and light color palette.

Advice for future brides: My best advice for future brides is surround yourself with positive people and then in turn make sure they know how much they are appreciated. We had the most incredible “village” to help make our wedding exactly what we wanted. They were above and beyond in every little detail. Another piece of advice is to remember that things are going to go wrong, they are going to happen! All you can really do is honestly take a shot and know that at the end of the night you are going to marry your best friend surrounded by the people that love and support you the most! Live it up, and enjoy every moment!
