Q: What was your dress like?

A: I wanted a dress that was romantic. The dress I found has a lot of lace, beading, and a long train. It’s a soft a-line with an open back. I’m obsessed with it and loved how it turned out with all of the flowers and decor on the wedding day!

The bridesmaids dresses:

I let them pick! I told them what color palette I was looking working with and gave them some options of where to shop, but from there I let them pick. I wanted them to be comfortable and feel beautiful.

The bride describing the flowers at her wedding: I am in LOVE with how the flowers turned out. I wanted flowers behind us at the ceremony, and Kate Foley did an incredible job creating the most beautiful arch or flowers. It included all of the various shades of pink I wanted + greenery. It was exactly the “beautiful simplicity” I wanted.

A little bit of backstory from the bride: I noticed JD at a high school football game about two years before we actually started dating. Sitting a couple rows in front of us was my parents’ pastor and his sons. Of course, I instantly noticed the cute “son” and asked my mom about the total babe sitting with their pastor, Buddy. I learned that he was in fact not Buddy’s son, but the youth pastor Buddy was about to hire. Fast forward two years later. JD had spent the last couple years working at Allen Bible Church and getting to know, of all people, my dad… Yes, my dad. Not me (I attended a different church at the time). Thankfully after spending a decent amount of time with my parents, he had heard enough about me through them as well as mutual friends of ours that he decided to ask me out. We dated for about 9 wonderful months before JD got down on one knee. The best decision I have EVER made was marrying my sweet husband!

Advice from the bride: If I had to give future brides a piece of advice it would be through all the craziness, excitement and stress of planning, keep one thing in mind: all that truly matters is that you are marrying the man of your dreams. Pretty early on in the planning process I reminded myself of this. It made planning all of the little details so much easier and so much fun because when things got a little stressful, I would just remind myself that the whole point of it all was to marry JD. That’s all that mattered. It definitely helped me stay in perspective.

Q: What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?

A:

My favorite memory from the day was the moment I saw my handsome groom at the altar. It sounds super cliche, but that was the moment I was looking forward to all day. It’s funny because on your wedding day you spend the majority of the day away from your groom. I remember thinking how unfair that I had to wait until 5 pm to see him! But it was totally worth it. Seeing the smile on his face and tears in his eyes was so special and unforgettable.

Q: What was your color palette and style vision for the wedding?

A: My color palette was soft pinks, blushes and mauves + whites and greenery. I am obsessed with Joanna Gaines’ style, so she was my inspiration. I wanted to go for a bright, fresh, neutral look of simplicity. I wanted the photos to come out looking bright and fresh.
