A little bit of backstory from the bride: Nick and I met online, the good old fashioned way. 🙂 We knew this relationship was different from the start. We clicked on everything from which restaurant to try out to the love of our families to what we wanted for our future. We compliment each other well and balance out our love for travel and exploring new places to relaxing at home with family.
The flowers described by the bride: Our flowers were a mix of beautiful whites and greens. With it being a winter wedding, we did not want a Christmas/holiday vibe with the flowers. The florist did a fabulous job incorporating traditional florals with modern flares here and there. We used a lot of hydrangeas, orchids, peonies, ranunculus/roses and olive branch.
Q: Describe your dress and the bridesmaids’ dresses!
A: My gown was from BHLDN. I made a quick trip to Houston to check out the store after a friend of mine purchased her dress there. It was a fun and quick experience… they had several options and were totally affordable! My bridesmaids picked a black dress of their choice from a local dress shop in OKC, Moliere. It was important for them to feel comfortable and beautiful on the Big Day with me, and I love how the dress styles turned out. It was cohesive, but not too matchy-matchy.
Q: What was your favorite part of the big day?
A: The ceremony – it was sweet and special to us. Speaking your vows to love and cherish your favorite person forever, in front of family and friends was emotional and exciting.
Q: What was your style vision for the wedding?
A: Color palette was white, gold and silver. We wanted the evening to have a little glam with understated sparkle! After all, it was New Year’s Eve! Our style was New Year’s Eve romantic glam with pops of shimmery gold/silver.
The bride about her desserts : Our decision to skip out on cake was not a tough one. We LOVE donuts and actually had donuts on the night of our first date. Trying out donut shops in our area to pick our favorites wasn’t great for the “get in shape for the wedding” diet… but who cares! We went with a classic staple we both grew up with – Daylight Donuts.
Advice for future brides: Don’t. Sweat. The. SMALL. Stuff. Enjoy the day with your friends and family. Wear comfortable shoes. Steam your dress before you arrive at the venue. 🙂
