The Love Story: Fabian and I met when we were 8 years old playing soccer. We were friends, but we secretly had a crush on each other. At age 15 we started dating. We didn’t go to the same high school so we hung out on the weekends and went to each other’s soccer games whenever we could.
Fabian and I both attended Texas A&M, where we made some of our best memories and friends. We stayed up late studying together, went to football games, and found our favorite food and coffee spots! After a few more years of school, we moved back home to Dallas. Our first trip together was last year and we came home engaged! I have known since I was 17 that Fabian would be my forever person.
The Proposal: After we moved back home to Dallas, Fabian and I talked about where we would go on our first trip to celebrate finishing school and starting the next phase of our lives. We decided on Washington D.C. and somehow Fabian convinced me to wake up at 5 am to make the most of our first full day in D.C. We had Starbucks and then took an uber to the Jefferson monument, where Fabian led me close to the water and asked me to marry him! It was truly one of the best day of our lives. He even hired a photographer to capture the moment.
The Engagement Session: Our engagement session with Emily was so much fun! She played music and made us feel comfortable by having us play games and be silly with each other and her.
Advice to Future Brides: My advice to brides during their engagement is to not let the stress of planning a wedding take away from actually enjoying their engagement.
