A little bit of backstory from the bride: Andrew & I met at work (Sigma Marble & Granite) in 2015 and had to be on the down low until I quit and found a new job. LOL only one person knew at work! Andrew stills works there but I have moved on. He asked me to go to a concert one night (and we’re totally not in the same music) but I said yes and went! Then we had Sigma’s Holiday Luncheon and hung out afterwards and the rest is history! Andrew is a very laid back person and sometimes guys don’t get the hint that it’s time for the next step. His friend introduced him to someone and we actually picked out the diamond and made the ring together. He proposed July 2018. He proposed in our house; I was washing dishes and turned around and there he was on one knee! We planned the wedding and got married October 26, 2019.

Q: What is your favorite photo and why is it your favorite?

A: OMG! Emily, you did such an amazing job  that we really do not have a favorite because we love them ALL! But I guess my favorite photo would be us at the park in my Vietnamese dress or one of us in front of the church. I also LOOOOOVE the ones where we’re looking at each other and smiling. It just makes my heart happy. But these photos also show how amazing both of my dresses look!!!

“My tea ceremony dress was custom designed by Dream Dresses by PMN. It’s actually on her website and she even named it after me (TERESA). Dream Dresses by PMN created the perfect Vietnamese dress for me and made my vision come true. It was beyond perfect!

Q: What was your wedding dress like?

A: My gown is from Winnie Couture. I fell in love with the dress and customer service! The dress was originally made to be strapless but I got the off the shoulder straps added on. The dress was ivory and had beading all around the body of the dress. There was a lot of layers to create the poof at the bottom. I got my dress altered at Legacy Tailor and they did such an amazing job on it!

Q: What was your color palette and style vision?:

A: We chose navy, burgundy, & gold. Since it was fall — I wanted a dark color to go with the navy. We really did not have a style vision — our décor people actually really helped us on this one. We ended up going with floral & greenery for our reception since it pairs well with our color palette. We had a huge greenery halo above our dance floor with Edison lights in the middle of it (the Edison lights in the middle came from our original idea of wanting a starry night). Our décor people used just the right amount of floral for us. It was perfect!

The bridesmaids dresses: Our bridesmaid dresses were actually from LuLu’s! It’s the Air of Romance Burgundy Maxi Dress. At first, I was going to splurge but decided to just go with the LuLu’s and they turned out great!

The bride describing her flowers for the big day: We are not big floral people at all; I did not care what flowers they used! Our decor/floral vendor literally chose all the flowers. We just gave them our colors and they went with it! For our bouquets, I know they used lots of roses and even added greenery to it (which I loved!). I know they used more types of flowers in the bouquets, but to be honest — I have no idea what was used. They used hydrangea for our sweetheart table at the reception and our memory table. Tulips were also used for our sweetheart table. LOTS of greenery were used! Our decor/floral vendor are excellent at their job and skills and they chose for us. They did amazing!

Here’s some advice from Teresa for future brides:

I would probably get a more comfortable dress or TRY on the dress one or 2 months ahead of time! Since you’ll be wearing it for a long period of time — make sure it’s comfortable!!! Mingle with your guests! We were able to rush our timeline to mingle with everyone for 2 hrs because out-of-town guests would be leaving the next day or we were busy before going on our honeymoon! You really can’t make everyone happy so don’t try to cater to everyone. Do what YOU want for YOUR wedding and what fits YOUR budget.

Q: What was your wedding cake like?

A: Our cake is from Paris Bakery in Arlington, TX. My brother actually got the same cake for his wedding but we had gotten naked instead of the traditional white cake. The price was also great and cheaper than a lot of places we looked at. They also deliver and have worked with our décor/floral vendor!

The bride’s favorite memory from her wedding day: My favorite memory of the day was just having all our loved ones there! It’s rare to have everyone in one room but this is as close as it gets. You really do feel the love on your special day. We had so many people who helped us and helped create a perfect wedding for us. But also the best part is FINALLY GETTING MARRIED and being next to your husband the whole time. We were basically side by side throughout the day. The day was about us and to really cherish it with everyone you love is great.
