Q: What was the theme/style for your wedding?
A: My everyday style is Classy with a side of party and sass and I tried to reflect that in our wedding. We had a NYE wedding so we chose three simple colors: black, white, and gold. Our invitations, by The Write Invite, showcased our theme so well and they even had a shimmer to them!
The Dress: Caroline wore a dress from Patsy on Henderson. This dress had such detailed lace and romantic sleeves. She had her hair pulled back into a bun to complete her elegant look (she also use to be a ballerina).
The Groom’s Attire: The colors were mainly black, white, and gold, but Ben wore a Plum tux to add some spice! This is a fun pop of color to pair with their classy look.
The Love Story Told by the Bride: The summer of 2014 was when Ben and I met. We met at my first job out of college called Lululemon, located on Knox Street in Dallas. We named our French bulldog Knox because it’s where we met and got our first apartment together.
Ben and I are very different people. I am the extroverted, wild, social butterfly, while Ben is more of the introvert and would rather have a night in, but this is what brought us together, a balanced life. Both of us LOVE food and trying new restraunts but we also like to take care of our bodies and work out, balance baby! We even made our wedding party work out the morning of at Evolve Fitness, we are crazy we know!
Wedding Party Attire: We had the ladies wear floor length black dresses and the men in black tuxes. The girls dresses were a variety of styles, including jumpsuits.
Flowers: My bouquet was everything I ever dreamed of! We actually didn’t have a ton of flowers because it was NYE. Our florist (the floral eclectic) did a bunch of Balloon installments through out the venue. I know NOTHING about flowers and decor so I kinda left that in the hands of Taylor at Floral Eclectic.
Q: What was your favorite memory from the day?
A: Hands down our ceremony!!!! It was MAGICAL – the way the room was lit with the white trees and the blue lit walkway. I would do anything to go back to the moment where I walked down the aisle and saw all the people gathered to watch Ben and I tie the knot.
We had a pretty untraditional wedding party. There were boys and girls on both the groom and bride’s side. At the ceremony, the wedding party did not stand at the altar with us. Instead, every person carried a single rose and placed it in an arrangement at the altar to symbolize they were there with us. We had our dear friend and favorite Yoga teacher, here in Dallas, marry us.
The Cake: The wedding cake was GORGEOUS and was actually made by the mother of the groom! We received many compliments on the look and taste of it.
Q: What is your favorite photo?
A: I literally cannot pick a favorite photo … they are all amazing. I honestly really loved seeing pictures of the people at the wedding enjoying themselves!
Advice to Future Brides: – DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF! People always told me this, and I truly didn’t understand that until day of. It will all come together in the end no matter what. And the most important part of this whole “thing” is not the wedding – its the marriage.
People keep saying 2020 has been the start of the worst decade, but for me it couldn’t be so far from the truth! It has been the start to my wonderful marriage
