How the couple met: “Dan and I met at work, but were just friends for a couple of years before he made the move at a Christmas party my roommates and I threw at our house in DC! I was actually assigned to be his “buddy”, as I had started a few months before and could therefore help him navigate the firm. My best friend and matron of honor actually printed out the email that I sent him on his first day and framed it for our reception- so I guess you could say I made the first move after all!”

The Dress: “I bought my first dress (yes, I said “first”) a full year before the wedding… and almost immediately started having second thoughts about it. By the time it came in only three months before the wedding, I knew that it was not the dress I wanted to wear. As you can imagine, I was incredibly upset, stressed, and in tears! My mom and my sister flew into DC three days later, and we ended up finding a dress that I LOVED.”

A Favorite Memory: “One of my favorite memories was walking down the aisle. I was calm and collected the entire day until minutes before the ceremony started – my nerves went WILD. As soon as I entered into the church I started crying because I was so happy to finally marry Dan (sappy, I know!).

An added note: “My favorite piece was my wedding bouquet – I had fastened to it a guardian angel necklace my dad had purchased for each of his four daughters just days before his passing, so I was still able to have my dad walk me down the aisle.”

The Bride’s color palette was green, gold, and white. She said, ” I wanted the wedding to fell clean, crisp, and JOYFUL! Her flowers were done by Lizzie’s Bee’s who did an outstanding job. The bride adds, “As an accountant, I don’t have a creative bone in my body and was more than happy to leave it up to the professionals who somehow NAILED the look I had envisioned without much – if any – guidance from me!”

Q: What is your favorite photo and why?

A: This is a truly impossible task, but I will try to somehow narrow it down to ONE. I love everything about this photo – I love how CRISP the details are, I love how you can see the vibrancy of the colors, I love how you captured my veil moving with the wind, and this is my good side :). I think this picture just really captures the joy I felt all day long

Another favorite memory from the bride was getting introduce as husband and wife at their reception. “We had such an incredible and LOUD group of friends and family who made that first entrance so much fun and really set the tone for the rest of the evening.”

“My cake topper story I LOVE! The cake topper we used was the same one Dan’s parents used on their wedding day. My father-in-law had one job for the day and that was to get a topper for the cake…. which he promptly forgot and required a last minute trip to CVS the day of. Dan’s sister Lindsey and her husband Andy used it on their wedding day, so I guess you could say it’s a new family tradition!”

Advice for future brides: TAKE. YOGA. I was a stressball for 13 months and that is entirely too long to get worked up about one day. Take deep breaths, delegate (people WANT to help!), do non-wedding things with your friends and family, and just remember that at the end of it all, you will be MARRIED to the love of your life!
