A little bit of backstory from the bride:

Reid and I met at Baylor University in May of 2016. He had just finished his first year of law school at Baylor and I was graduating from Baylor undergrad. Saturday night after my graduation, Reid was in town because of law school and a few of his other friends were in town to watch siblings and younger friends graduate. That evening, Reid and I ran into each other. We knew each other well enough to say “hi” in passing but that was about it. Reid struck up conversation and five minutes of talking turned into ten, which turned into fifteen and then twenty…next thing I know, Reid was asking to take me on a date the next weekend and I said yes. The following Friday night, Reid drove up to Dallas to take me on a date. We dated the whole summer. However, once school was about to start up, we took some time apart so I could focus on going into my first year of teaching.  After the first week of school, Reid sent me flowers and the sweetest note to let me know that he had been praying for me and my new students and wished me well. I called him after receiving the flowers and we got together for drinks a few weeks later when Reid was back in Dallas see each other. After Reid graduated from law school, he planned the most wonderful proposal and gathered all of our friends and family to celebrate with us afterwards! We are currently enjoying married life and love looking back at the wonderful pictures from our perfect day!

Q: What was your style palette and color vision?

A: My color palette was shades of pink with gold accents. My vision was classic, elegant, and timeless.

The flowers described by the bride: My flowers were done by 21 Parc. They are AMAZING! I wanted to have big, tall flower arrangements that were the centerpoint of the reception area and John could not have done a better job at making my vision come to life.

Q: What was your dress like?

A: My dress was not at all what I thought it would be. I got it from Bridal Boutique in Lewisville and had the most wonderful experience while shopping there. My maid of honor, Rachel, wanted me to try on a gown that was opposite of my form fitting vision – I fell in love with the dress as soon as I put it on! I never wanted to take it off! It took me an hour of dress shopping to say yes to my Lea Ann Belter gown! Q: What was your cake like?

A: The cake was from Tastefully Yours. I told Ruth that I wanted something elegant and timeless and she drew up the perfect, five-tier cake with flowers. Reid wanted a grooms cake that involved Baylor and golf. The two tier grooms cake perfectly embodied both of those elements. John, from 21 park, had the idea to move the cakes into the cocktail area and I loved the color and elegance it brought to the space.

An extra sweet moment described by the bride:

We came up with the idea of turning her wedding dress into my rehearsal dinner dress. Additionally, I decided that I wanted it to be the dress that I would leave in as well. Elizabeth Leese transformed my mom’s wedding gown into a gorgeous, tea-length dress. When my mom and I first pulled her dress out from it’s preservation box, we were not sure if our idea was going to work. However, Elizabeth helped us clean it up and drew up several, creative ideas for how to repurpose the dress. My mom and I were amazed at how the dress turned out. It was such a special part of my wedding!

The bride’s favorite memory from her big day: My favorite memory was getting to dance all night long with my favorite people! There is no better feeling than being surrounded by the people you love the most and celebrating the best day ever by dancing the night away!

Advice from Karly for future brides: Take it all in and don’t sweat the small stuff!!
