“Emily has already made our dreams come true and she’s only done our engagement pictures. We cannot wait for our wedding pictures!! She is amazing and I could rave about her all day! We are so incredibly blessed to know her and to be a part of her beautiful work. We’ll love these pictures forever! The best decision you’ll make while wedding planning (other than choosing to marry your best friend) is having Emily capture your day!!”

A little bit of backstory from the bride:

Robert and I met after “swiping right” on a dating app in June of 2015. He would message me for weeks asking me out on dates, but I was nervous and stalled as long as possible since I was moving at the end of the summer. My last weekend in town a couple of my classmates and I decided to go out to this new bar called ‘Proof. ‘ Well, so did Robert. He saw me from a far and texted me. After meeting face- to- face, we instantly hit it off!  I moved to Abilene for my clinical rotations 5 days after meeting him. He told me he would visit me whenever he had off weekends, at the time he worked for an Oil & Gas Company, his schedule was 12 days on and 4 days off. Every other Thursday night after working 12-14 hour shifts he would drive late at night to Abilene to spend the weekend with me. I had to study a lot during my rotations, but that didn’t stop him from coming to visit me. I would study for 8 hours and then we’d go out and have dinner. He was so used to this schedule. He was always so calm and patient. When he had to work in Oklahoma he would still drive 5+ hours just to see me for 1 day. Our long distance relationship truly allowed us to genuinely cherish the time we had together. Once I graduated, he quit his job and moved to Dallas with me to start our lives together. I’d have to say meeting him at the bar ‘Proof’ was already proof it was meant to be. We’ve been inseparable ever since. Robert planned a surprise engagement at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium surrounded by close friends and family. It was such an amazing day!

Q: What was your wedding dress like?

A: Ivory, Lace, off the shoulder with sleeves, long train bridal gown. My dress was from Bridal Boutique Lewisville. The lace sleeves were added by Margo West Alterations since I wanted a “fall” look. I LOVED everything about my dress. I wish I could wear it everyday. It blew me away.

Q: What was your color palette and style vision?

A:Handful of fall hues including, burgundy, blush, gold and navy.

Q: What were your bridesmaids dresses like and how did you pick them?

A: Burgundy dresses from the Nordstrom Wedding Suite at Northpark the Dessy Collection & Gold dresses from Bella Bridesmaids Dallas, the Theia couture collection. Loved the mixture of both colors. This really made the color scheme pop with the flower background. Everything worked out so well, the colors really added to the fall wedding I always wanted!

Q: What was your favorite moment of the big day?

A: My favorite memory of the day was our ceremony. It was so special to see our family and friends there for us, for our union in marriage. Not only was it such a sacred moment, but it was absolutely fun. Full of sincere emotion. Gosh, I just love Robert.  I just loved everything about our ceremony. I wish I could go back to this very moment.

Q: What was one of your favorite pictures and why is it your favorite?

A: The pictures of my crying.  His vows…I knew I would cry, but oh my goodness the amount of emotion I felt at that very moment. I just wanted to keep thanking The Lord for blessing me with such an amazing man that cares and loves me. It was all so real. We are both perfectly imperfect, but our love is strong. We know marriage will not be easy, but we chose each other everyday. This moment made it so real.
The flowers described by the bride: I loved our flowers by Luxe Petals. Joie did an amazing job! Lots of foliage, burgundy, blush and white flowers.

Advice from Jessica for future brides:

My married friends would always tell me to not focus on the little details. I obviously did the opposite of that and focused on the little details because I wanted to make sure everything was “perfect.” I wish I wouldn’t have stressed out as much as I did about certain things. I didn’t even notice a lot of those things that I stressed out about while wedding planning on our actual wedding day, because the day goes by so fast. Please make sure to breathe, take it all in, remember at the end of the day the only thing that matters is that y’all are married! The only opinions that matter are the Bride and the Groom. This is YOUR day.
