The couple’s backstory from the grooms perspective:

Set the scene. August 2012, North Central Texas College. At the time I was just a guy who got back in school after joining the army and found myself in math class. In walks Haley, a beautiful girl who caught my attention. We slowly started talking every class period and I eventually pretended to need tutoring. She agreed to help me out and we began to start studying outside of class. We were both in a weird spot with our current relationships and as we talked more about our similarities and differences we realized we were with the wrong people. Weeks went on, and we both ended up single. I stayed patient, waiting for the right opportunity and soon I found myself on my first date with her and looks like she kinda liked me. 5+ years later and here we are, strong as ever and it all started with a math problem. Her + me = forever.

I always was the better one at math after all…

Q: What were the colors you picked out for your wedding?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             A: I went for a very classic look in every choice I made. My colors were gold, pinks, navy, and lots of greenery to compliment the classic look!

Q: What were the dresses like for your wedding?

A: My gown was a little trickier to find. It took us about 6 bridal shops but as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one. I loved the lace detailing on the bodice and the more romantic details. The bridesmaids contrasted me in a more modern taupe/gold dress that included sequins. The flower girls were in a dress that had similar lace to my dress but a blush tone to match the jr bridesmaids colors.

The flowers described by the bride: For my flowers I went with the same look; lots of shades of pink, some more simplistic classic flowers like babies breath and hydrangeas, and the greenery to help the bold flowers pop.

The invitations and cakes described by the bride: Our invitation matched the navy of the groom and groomsmen suits and had the very simple classic look I was still going with, as well as some more delicate floral patterns on it to add some of the romance to it.  -the cake-  My cake turned out beautiful!! I wanted something super simple with the romantic feel the flowers added! We used my parent’s china that they received as a gift for their wedding, and my great uncles cake cutting utensils. He was not able to make it to the wedding and ended up passing a month after we got married.

The bride’s favorite memory from their big day: My favorite memory from that day was our first dance. All the stress of how is this/that going to go was over and I felt the relief of ‘it doesn’t matter because we are MARRIED!!’ I just felt like we were floating on the dance floor and although we were in front of all our loved ones It felt like our first real moment being married.

Advice for future brides:

Do what makes you happy because it only happens once! At the very beginning of this process I had tons of other people’s opinions thrown at me trying to help me figure out what I wanted! They finally said just told us ‘Do what you want, it’s your wedding and only you know!’  Just be very expressive of exactly what you want and it will all go smoothly!

Brides favorite picture: Our last dance of the night. I love that it’s just us and we are taking it all in. I love the admiration you can see on his face for me, and how carelessly in love we look. Just gives me those same feelings from our first dance.
