A little bit of background from the bride:

My husband, Scott and I met in college through a mutual friend. We dated for almost two years before he proposed to me on the day I graduated from Texas State! We were on the way to my dinner and we had to “stop to get the cake” and drove up to a beautiful bridge where he had a photographer waiting and flowers in the shape of a heart. We walked on the bridge and he proposed and it was perfect, could not have imagined it any other way! We were engaged for one year and 10 months, longest engagement ever but I needed it for all the wedding planning! We have grown so much as a couple and have always put God in our relationship! Scott always puts me first and always makes sure that I am happy and I can’t thank God enough for him, he pushes me to be the best that I can be and I can’t thank him enough for that.

Q: What was your favorite photo and why is it your favorite?

A: My favorite photos are one of me and my grandmother as I was getting ready, Scott and I facing the pastor but looking at each other smiling, and lastly Scott and I in the Vineyard kissing with my veil blowing.

Q: What was your color palette and your style vision?

A: We had burgundy, blush, navy and gold! Everything was very classic and timeless I wanted a lot of candles and florals and it turned out perfectly!

Q: Can you describe your gown and the bridesmaids dresses? A: My wedding gown- like any girl I dreamt of my wedding dress and what I would wear, of course I had my “Pinterest perfect” dress in mind and I walked in the boutique and saw my dress. I grabbed and it was the first one I put on, it had a long train and full of lace, I could not have imagine a more fitting dress for our big day! — my bridesmaids wore “Show Me Your Mumu” dresses, all the same color, but with different styles. They all got to choose what fit their body and they all looked so beautiful.

The bride’s favorite moment from this special day: It is so hard to choose one memory because everything was seriously so perfect, but if I had to choose I think my most favorite was our “first touch” We split a pillar and stood there holding hands, the touch of the man I was about to walk down the isle to was so soothing after a hectic day of getting ready. My husband prayed about our day and it was just so perfect! I 100% recommend a first touch!

The flowers that were picked for the wedding described by the bride: In my bouquets I had a lot of greenery and dark red roses with some white and blush flowers as well, it was the perfect size and I could not have asked for a more perfect bouquet!

Q: Tell us about your wedding cake and invitations!
A: Our invitations were custom made and were very elegant, I did not want anything drastic, again I was going for the very elegant look. They were an ivory color and the calligraphy was amazing! — my cake was DELICIOUS! It had a different flavor per layer and oh my goodness I could not get enough (the next day of course) we had a four tier ribboned cake with some of my flowers on them, again, very elegant and simple!

Advice from the bride: Don’t stress the small things and take every little moment in. Also, my husband and I ate privately after our photos while everyone was in cocktail hour, and then while everyone else was eating we went around and talked to them. I 100% recommend this because then you get to eat, and people won’t be bothering you all night because you already said hello! Don’t stress about your ceremony music, no one is going to remember what grandma walked down the aisle to. HAVE FUN!!! Get on that dance floor and dance the night away!
