On an exceptionally lovely crisp autumn day, I was driving in the country. Cool air brushed my cheeks as I gazed out of my rolled down windows. I came upon what looked like a field of snow, my eyes were mesmerized by the light softly illuminating the little cotton fluffs. Through that car window, my imagination soared.
You know, there is something about ideas, they always seem to come when you least expect them, like while you’re doing something extraordinarily mundane like driving down the road! BAM! It struck me like a bolt of lightening, nothing fancy just two lovers and cotton for as far as the eye can see. Once this idea came, I was captivated, I couldn’t think about anything else but making this idea a reality.
My idea was still very new & raw, so I texted my talented fellow lady boss friend, Madison from Moxie Way. My text to her said, “I have another idea….” with out hesitation her response was immediately YES! I think it’s so important to surround yourself with other creatives that are for you and want to water your ideas, not squelch them. Maddie played a big role in helping me process my idea, take it to the next level, and make it into something tangible.
It was refreshing for me to use this shoot as an opportunity to evaluate why I do what I do and just shoot for the love of it. Personal work is good for the soul!
This little shoot was a complete handcrafted labor of love. I’m so excited & humbled that it will be published by Junebug Weddings
